A New Interactive Tutorial

It is with tremendous thanks, appreciation, and gratitude that TeachingBooks.net enters its 18th school year. Wow! I'm proud of how it has stayed true to enriching each reader's experience, while adjusting to new technologies and educational needs.

Our new Interactive Tutorial reveals our latest tools and fun ways TeachingBooks connects readers to books and authors.

The tutorial highlights our foundational components for both the novice and the experienced user and acts as a refresher and as a training tool. Please enjoy, share it, and let me know what you think.

In her guest blog post this month, Patricia shares how the motivation for her most recent titles comes from "feelings of injustice" and how she hopes her books will make readers think differently and critically about the world around them.

Meet-the-Author Book Reading: Illustrating Like a Photographer

In the award-winning graphic novel, Photographic: The Life of Graciela Iturbide (The J. Paul Getty Museum, 2018), the illustrator Zeke Peña thoughtfully worked to capture the essence of Iturbide and her photography. Peña approached each of his illustrations as Iturbide approached each of her subjects and settings and as photographs that present a snapshot of a moment in time.

Listen to Zeke Peña share the inspiration behind Photographic: The Life of Graciela Iturbide.
