“Winter is coming … what should I do?” Many animals have an answer for the red fox who is wondering how to prepare. A caterpillar suggests spinning a chrysalis. A turtle suggests swimming deep down into mud. Gather nuts like squirrel? Zip into a cave, hang upside down, and sleep like bat? Fly south like the geese? “That won’t do for me,” fox answers each time, knowing he isn’t meant to do any of those things.
