About Peter Sís

Peter Sís is an internationally acclaimed illustrator and author who was born in Czechoslovakia. His intricately illustrated picture books, Tibet Through the Red Box and Starry Messenger are Caldecott honor books. The Wall: Growing Up Behind the Iron Curtain, a Caldecott Honor and Sibert Medal-winning title, is featured in the movie below. He was interviewed and photographed in his New York City studio.
