Creating a Professional Login

Creating a Professional Login

Welcome to Book Connections! Creating a Professional Login allows you to seamlessly share resources, create Custom Reading Lists, and use the Collection Analysis Toolkit to examine the makeup of your library collections and featured books.

First, go to Book Connections. Look at the upper left hand corner of the screen. You may be welcomed by the name of your library or as a resident of your state. Select the menu indicated by the three lines near the Book Connections logo. Select Professional Login. If this is not visible, select Sign In. Start by entering your work email. Complete the Professional Login Registration. A confirmation code will be sent to your email. Check your email for the confirmation code. If it is not in your inbox, check spam or other folders. Once you have confirmed your profile successfully you will be welcomed by your name at the top of the screen.

A Professional Login allows you to share a book page or a resource from that page by selecting the arrow icon. A Professional Login also allows you to customize booklists for easy access to resources you would like to feature or save. Look for the plus icon to start creating a new list or add a title to an existing one. You can also analyze your booklists or a larger portion of your collection with the Collection Analysis Toolkit. The reports provide immediate insights into your collection's genre, cultural, and curricular classifications, while also considering reading levels, text complexity, and recency of publication date.

The next time you use the website you can just sign in using your work email and password. Once you have created customized pieces, find them under the toggle menu, indicated by the three lines to the left of the Book Connections logo — Your Reading Lists, Your Collection Analysis Reports — as well as information about your license and newsletter

Thank you for creating a Professional Login so you can access additional tools designed to support your patrons and the literacy work at your library.
