Kristin Davenport

Instructional Resources Curation Librarian

One of Kristin Davenport's most vivid childhood memories is watching Mr. Darcy insult Elizabeth Bennet at the Meryton Ball. Her ninth grade English teacher, Mr. Weinberg, had chosen to play a video clip from a recent adaptation of Pride and Prejudice as part of an introduction to a unit on Emma. Kristin primarily read horror novels, but she picked up Pride and Prejudice in addition to the assigned book because she had to know what happened next. By the end of her senior year, she had read all six of Jane Austen's novels multiple times and joined the school's Shakespeare Club. She studied English literature in college, earned a master's degree in library and information studies, and spent more than a decade working in schools and libraries. She enjoys spending her days working with the team at TeachingBooks.net to help build a collection of resources that can inspire readers to dive deeper into the world of books. In her free time, Kristin is happiest spending time outdoors: Hiking or sketching the scenery.
