Jade was born and raised in the Land of Enchantment (New Mexico). She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Mexico with a double major in History, and Spanish Language & Literature, then pursued her Masters of Library & Information Science. She spent 17 years in library work, mostly as a School Librarian working with children and teens. She has also served as a Director of Diversity and Inclusion and enjoyed being able to contribute towards her passions of diversity, inclusion, equity and justice. She values lifelong learning and building connections, and is passionate about reading, literacy, and increasing access to resources for all. She stays active in her fields through committee work. She has served on the 2018 Sibert Award committee, and the Jane Addams Book Award Committee, among others. She is excited to be able to help bring resources to more educators, librarians, and most of all, readers through her work at TeachingBooks! She loves music, books, travel (especially to the ocean), zumba, and spending time with her family.
